Crisp weather has arrived, and with it, the turning of the leaves. We finally are seeing some color and what better place to do it than in Bucks County in New Hope?

Stroll along the river or canal, duck into unique shops, and eat at some of the best places the area has to offer. Plus, it’s sweater weather, so break out your favorite ellelauri sweater and rock those fall boots.

Visit the Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preservekayak the Delaware River and tour historic sites such as Washington’s Crossing Historic Park, or see a show at the Bucks County Playhouse.

Take a train tour on the New Hope and Ivyland Railroad, and then wind down with a fabulous Southern dinner at Marsha Brown, the restaurant inside a redesigned church.

Then cross the river into New Jersey and wander around Lambertville, another equally charming town.

And don’t forget to book a stay at one of New Hope’s Bed and Breakfast’s like the Inn at Bowman’s Hill, near Bowman’s Tower and Preserve.

The grounds at the Inn are amazing. Trees edged the grounds, gently throwing leaves floating to the ground.

You can see how the leaves were ever so carefully losing their green to yellow. In the warmer months, guests can harvest their own eggs from the free-range chickens for breakfast, and now that it’s chillier, Chef Anastasio created their signature breakfast with fresh eggs.

Stay in any one of the eight rooms or suites, like The Penthouse Suite, with a king size bed, a table and chairs, a large lounge chair, an antique desk, window seats with carefully crafted bookshelves, and a refreshment area with coffee, tea, and snack.

Further inside the marble bathroom a shower with 11 shower heads promises ultimate luxury and view the night sky over the Jacuzzi.

One corner of the ceiling above the tub had been painstakingly designed to look like a starry night with an occasional shooting star twinkling overhead- the effect is truly magical. It boasts over 300 fiber optic lights to create these stars.

Plus two gas fireplaces- which is perfect for this weather- a couch and chairs, flat screen TVs and window seats in the annex which led out to our own private veranda overlooking the entire estate.

Have dinner down the road at Bowman’s Tavern, a truly fun place with live music and great food, and then retire to the absolute silence of the Inn, or head into New Hope to find live music and fabulous cocktails at any one of great restaurants.

n the morning, have breakfast in the huge oak-beamed dining room next to the greenhouse over looking the grounds and the pool, or enjoy breakfast in bed.

Yogurt, muffins, berries, homemade granola, French-press coffee, tea, and the traditional English breakfast with potatoes, scrambled eggs, beans, tomatoes, sausage and bacon, or enjoy a fluffy soufflé-style omelet.

If you have time, find the wineries in the area that make Bucks County so popular like Crossing Vineyard in Washington Crossing and the New Hope Winery. Set aside a weekend to enjoy this picturesque, historic town along the banks of the Delaware River, and raise a glass to Fall.
